Who we are and what we do…

Our Mission

The Australian Wildlife Protection Council is a non-profit organisation, founded in 1969, dedicated to the protection and preservation of Australian wildlife and it’s habitat.

We believe our wildlife has intrinsic value to our heritage, culture and environment and we seek to dispel misconceptions, to educate and be a voice for all our native species.

We are actively engaged in the revisions and consultation of wildlife legislation, the opposition of wildlife exploitation and advocate for wildlife rescuers and shelters.

We are not a wildlife rescue service but please find rescue numbers Australia wide here: Wildlife Contacts Australia Wide
